IOI gold medal

From algorithm books and the Progmeistars sponsored elite group to 2nd place at the Latvian olympiad and bronze at the Baltic one, then gold at the International Olympiad in Informatics in Yongin, Korea — 18th place overall, one of 23 gold medals (listed as Andrejs Ivanovs, Latvia). At the Latvian olympiad I was the only one to score 100 on two problems, one of them “Operācija @”, choosing where to put brackets in a 250-digit expression with a non-associative operation, which earned the Progmeistars special prize for quality of solutions. For the olympiads I received awards from the Government of Latvia and the Riga City Council.
